Common Filter Applications
Common Water Problems

Sediment
PROBLEM: All drinking water has some degree of suspended particulate matter. Many particles (of smaller than 50 microns) are not visible, but still may cause problems. Rust, Sand, Algae, Clay, Scale and even Cryptosporidium or Giardia Cysts may all be included in the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in your water. Excessive amounts of sediment in your water can appear as cloudiness, rust, or specks; dirt or particles on bottom of drinking glasses or faucet aerator; dirt or grime in sinks, tubs, or shower stalls; or spotting or stains on dishes after washing. Sediment buildup in your pipes and appliances can cause low water pressure and can damage or reduce the efficiency of ice machines, washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters, showerheads, and faucets.

SOLUTION: Campbell has various filters and cartridges to remove all types of sediment. Cryptosporidium and Giardia Cysts are water-borne parasites that may cause disease and gastrointestinal disorders if ingested. They are highly-resistant to Chlorine disinfection, but can be controlled with Campbell sediment filters and cartridges.

Taste & Odor
PROBLEM: Chlorine is used extensively in some municipal and private water systems to control bacteria. But even in safe levels, it can sometimes cause that unpleasant "swimming pool" taste and odor. Another offensive taste/odor in drinking water is the "rotten egg" smell caused by the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide.

SOLUTION: These and other unpleasant tastes and odors can be reduced in your drinking/cooking water with Campbell activated charcoal Filters/Cartridges.

Hazardous Contaminants
PROBLEM: Although some contaminants, like chlorine, have strong odors, many others are tasteless, odorless, and colorless. Even seemingly safe water can contain dangerous levels of the following contaminants:  Lead, Solvents, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as Pesticides Herbicides, Benzine, Carbon Tetrachloride, PDBs, and Trihalomethanes, that have been linked to such health problems as liver and kidney damage, reproductive failure, cancer, and other diseases.

SOLUTION: Campbell has filters and filtering systems to remove a large percentage of these harmful contaminants.

Scale & Chalky Deposits
PROBLEM: Buildup of Calcium and Magnesium Carbonate can form a hard, thick, chalky crust which can restrict flow in, or even clog, your water pipes and cause damage to expensive appliances such as water heaters, icemakers, warm-air humidifiers, under sink "instant-hot" water dispensers, and small vending machines.

SOLUTION: Campbell Chalky Deposit Filters use slow-releasing, FDA-listed food-grade, polyphosphate crystals to prevent this damaging scale accumulation.

Campbell recommends that you have your water tested to help determine the specific treatment necessary.
